Rocks, Rain and an Ocean Bath

One of my favourite things to shoot is Trash the dress sessions! Its a chance to put the gown back on and create some really creative, fun imagery! Originally Ash and I had planned on doing her trash the dress shoot in the Bogey Hole, but as the weather was getting quite wild and the waves were rather intense, we decided the ocean baths and the old canoe pool would be a lot safer.

So we set off for our new location and made great use of the waves in the background and the looming storm clouds. Ash was a total trooper and was keen for anything! A few canon balls into the baths and a bit of doggy paddling in her gown was no problem at all! And I got to shoot an image I've wanted to take for as long as I have been a photographer... A bride standing on the little island in the middle of the baths!

Thanks so much for a fun afternoon in the rather stormy ocean Ash! I had a blast!

An adorable little family

Its not often I get the chance to do a lot of family portrait shoots, so it was a nice change of pace to work with this lovely little family! I spent my afternoon at Speers Point Park creating some beautiful images in golden hour with Shannon, Ellie and their beautiful little cherub Ember! Ember was so attenive the whole time and happy to play it up to the camera a little, always watching where I was and looking straight at my lens!

Thank you both for letting me create some beautiful images of you and your gorgeous little girl!

Sunrises, jetties and crashing waves

I love keeping in touch with my couples after their wedding has passed, so I was very excited when Sam contacted me wanting to surprise Makayla with a sunrise photo shoot for their first wedding anniversary!

We met at 5am on a nice balmy summer morning at Catherine Hill Bay and trekked down to the rocks in the darkness while we waited for the sun to start popping over the horizon. As the sun came up, it illuminated the sea mist in the air and created a beautiful orange glow. We were stoked since Sam and Makayla have had all sorts of weather for all their photo shoots with me! Their Engagement shoot was raining, their wedding was rainy and foggy, and now their anniversary shoot, they finally got the golden flare photos we had been hoping for!

As the shoot progressed, we started to get further and further into the water, which was so incredibly warm! by the end, the three of us were covered in sand and were completely drenched! It was such a fun morning! Thank you both for being troopers and getting up so early for this shoot!
