Back in Action

So its been a bit of a rough week with me being rather ill, but I'm now back in action and ready for the big day of shooting I have ahead both tommorrow and on Sunday. Tommorrow I will be doin a couples shoot in the vineyards with a lovely couple who are coming up from Sydney for the weekend and on Sunday I will be shooting a child's modelling portfolio. Looking forward to the weekend ahead!

In other news, the studio is currently going through a bit of a revamp with new prints, art murals and canvases going up and new albums arriving shortly. All old furniture has been replaced with more modern furniture (including a super comfy leather lounge) and it now smells like the Peter Alexander Store! Mmmm... Caramel Icecream! Only downside, the scent of the place makes me hungry, not the best thing when i'm trying to do post processing all day.

Looking forward to getting some more work up here next week, and as I have been sick, I didn't get any sneakies up last week, so its a bit belated, but here you go! Some sneakings from a very fun photoshoot with the Middleton Family.

Enjoy!

Choosing the Right Wedding Photographer

Your wedding is generally considered the most important day of your life. And one of the best ways to make sure you treasure it is by having the right wedding photographer.

When choosing a wedding photographer, it is important to know that you cannot find out about the photographer by just looking at a few photographs on the photographer’s website. What you want are not a few wedding portraits but rather the complete package of wedding pictures. The right wedding photographer should be able to take pictures of the family, the important moments and the venue in addition to great shots of the bridal couple.

One thing you need to check when looking for a wedding photographer is whether or not he or she practices creative wedding photography. Creative wedding photography means looking for ways to make the picture stand out more and be interesting rather than just boring or run of the mill. Anyone can take standard shots. Your wedding photographer should be able to use the elements available to create some interesting shots. This can imply anything from being aware of the weather, or the lighting to being aware of a particular theme you might have to use for your wedding. The wedding photographer should also be great at catching impromptu shots to capture the general feeling of the wedding. So, ask for these types of pictures to be included in the samples when you contact a wedding photographer.

In your search for the right wedding photographer, you should look for unique wedding photography; you are bound to visit hundreds of wedding photographers’ websites, so look for the website where there are different pictures. Maybe, it can be the photographer’s own unique style coming out. Many different photographers like to play around with Photoshop for interesting results. Others position their subjects in unique poses. Yet others capture something generic from a different perspective. Your wedding photographer should optimally have all of this and more. So, make sure you ask for a complete set of wedding pictures so you can judge how unique your wedding photographer is. At Candice Campbell Photography, we use all available and current technique to make our photos as interesting and unique as possible.

Photojournalistic wedding photography requires a great amount of detail and perfectionism. This includes taking several different shots of the same thing so that there are many different to choose from. It can often be a tiring process, but your wedding photojournalist should be dedicated enough to do it. In order to ensure that you are getting such a dedicated artist, see if the photographer has more than one shot of the same people. Thus, once again, look for a photographer who has a wide variety and large quantity of photos posted online in his galleries, not just a few random photos. Also, try to determine if he has any criteria in selecting the shots he uses to promote his business. In other words, if there are photos that are poorly exposed, blown out, blurry etc. – there is  obviously a reason to be cautious in hiring this person.

Your wedding is a very important day, and you deserve the best. Do not settle for anything less than that in your wedding photographer. Hire a company like ours – Candice Campbell Photography. We provide the absolute best in quality, service and finished product.

Jess and Will's Big Day

I recently had the great pleasure of photographing a wonderful couple who came down from Mudgee to have their wedding at the beautiful Milano's on the Lake. What a stunning venue! And very popular that day as there were 3 other weddings along the shoreline. The ceremony was held under the beautiful trees next to Milanos. From there we spent all of 5 minutes on the nearby jetty. After attempting to get photos without getting wet by the hoards of children that were haveing diving competitions off the jetty, we decided to move on to somewhere a little bit different. We decided to stop literally 500 meters up the road and use some of the little secluded paths through the bushland behind Milanos. The humidity was pretty intense, and before we knew it, there was a slight sprinkling of rain. Thankfully I always carry my trusty yellow umbrella with me for just these occassions. From there we headed around behind the Belmont air strip to do a few more photos before heading back to Milano's for the reception. I would like to congratulate Jess and Will on their big day and thank them for their easy going nature and for making our day so fun! Thankyou for allowing us to be part of the celebration of your love.
