Bridges, Heritage Buildings and a Shimmering Wedding Gown

The 4th October 2014 was set to be a very warm day for Temika and Paul's big day! But the heat didn't stop it from being an amazing day! The girls spent the morning getting ready in matching slippers and shirt dresses at Temika's parents house, where I made friends with the biggest dog I have ever seen and hung Temika's stunning shimmery gown in a tree in the front yard.

The ceremony was held at St Joseph's Church in East Maitland and the reception was held at the always beautiful Longworth House. After we finished the family portraits at the ceremony, we set off to Morpeth for our first lot of portrait locations. Our first stop was Morpeth Bridge, which can at times be a logistical nightmare to work with as there are always cars trying to get across. But Temika, paul and their awesome bridal party were ready for the challenge and got in there and posed before we managed to annoy any of the oncoming traffic. Such troopers! When we had finished in Morpeth we made a quick stop off to my favourite feild near the studio in Largs for a few more photos before we set off for Newcastle for a few more locations and then the reception.

The reception was beautifully decorated with flowers and tall hurricane vases and plenty of fairy lights. At the end of the night, I took Temika and Paul for a quick walk up to the old Newcastle Post Office for a last night time photo. I always love to finish the night with either sparklers, or backlighting, and this wedding I got the best of both! Thank you both Temika and Paul for including us in your beautiful day! You were a fabulous couple to work with!

Cute Chapels, Mountain Ranges and Helicopters

On the 27th September, Merindah and I set off to Pokolbin for the wedding of Bri-Ellen and Nathan. I had photographed their eshoot just a few months prior and was so excited to work with them again, knowing their wedding would be just amazing! And we were not disappointed!

The girls spent the morning getting ready at the always beautiful Sebel Kirkton Park where they sipped champagne full of gold leaf flakes and listened to a selection of crazy music on an iPhone in a coffee mug! Merindah and the boys were getting ready at Crowne Plaza Pokolbin in a big room with beautiful light! The very heartfelt ceremony was held in the beautiful little chapel at Peppers Creek where we also did all the family photos before heading off on location. We spent our afternoon taking portraits in beautiful vineyards with breathtaking mountain ranges as a backdrop and in gorgeous golden lit fields before Bri-Ellen and Nathan made their way to the airport so they could make their special arrival to their reception.

The reception was held at Peterson's Champagne House, and all the guests were outside in the courtyard having drinks and canapés when they got a big surprise when a helicopter came in to land just outside the venue with a laughing Bri and Nathan on board! After a few more photos with the helicopter and around Petersons, the bridal party made their entry into the reception.

The reception was incredibly fun, with people laughing, awesome dancing, awesome food (oh my god... that beef!) and the cutest dessert table of yummy slices and cakes! After cutting their cheese wheel cake and doing their first dance, we went outside for a few last night time photos with the spectacular cherry blossom trees!

Thank you both for having Merindah and I there to share your day. We had an absolute blast!
