Sunny Days, Hungry Horses and Chasing Chooks

The 15th March was a beautiful sunny day, just perfect for Nathan and Amy's big day out at my favourite venue, Tocal Homestead! I started the day out at Maitland Vale with the girls, while Merindah spent some time at Tocal with the boys. The girls were so relaxed and chilled out and just couldn't wait to get to Tocal. Lots of laughs were had as a very hungry horse decided to pull things out of the bins under the cabin and then have a nibble of the ribbon on the bridal car!

Their ceremony was lovely and full of sweet little stories, held under the beautiful big fig trees in front of the homestead. We all had a good laugh as the groomsmen decided to jump in the pig pen and chase the piglets around while we were on location. By the end of the location shoot, Nathan and Amy had perfected their model posing and were now ready to go and party with their family and friends. But first, there was a chook that needed to be chased!

Amy and Nathan's reception was decorated beautifully, with lots of little handmade touches and some very cool hanging lights (that I am quite convinced I need to find and buy for my back deck ;-P). The speeches were so full of emotion and there was barely a dry eye in the house. Thank you to you both for having me there to share your day. I had a great time working with you both!

Muddy roads, Wine Barrels and a Stunning little Chapel

After a night of rest and a bit of a sleep in after Teigan and Aaron's wedding, it was time to get ready for the wedding of Tswi & Emily out at Peppers Creek Barrel Room. Just like the day before, it was a little wet and drizzly on and off throughout the day. The girls were very calm and relaxed while getting ready at Crowne Plaza. We even risked running outside for a few quick portraits on a chess board, but as soon as we got into place it started raining again, so we all had to run back to the room.

Tswi and Emily's ceremony was held in the beautiful little chapel at Peppers Creek. As soon as the ceremony was finished we made our way down to the dam at peppers for some photos with the bridal party that involved some toyota jumps and some broken bouquets. We then spent a bit of time doing some backlit photos with the Barrel wall. From there Tswi and Emily climbed into my car where we spent some time doing some beautiful portraits in a big field, a muddy dirt road, some vines and some big silos.

I then brought them both back to spend cocktail and canape hour with their guests as much of Tswi's family had travelled internationally for the wedding. The reception was held inside the beautiful barrel room, with candles everywhere and a stunning (and very delicious smelling) cake!

Thank you both for allowing me to share your perfect day with you! You were both so awesome to work with and were happy to run with my crazy ideas. So thank you both!

Pincurls, Raindrops and Graffitti Walls

Wedding season this year has been a bit of a wet one, so it was no surprise that when I woke up on the 1st March that it was drizzling outside again. Today was the wedding day of Teigan and Aaron. Merindah made her way off to Tanilba Bay to photograph the boys, while I made my way down to the beautiful Bella Vista in Mayfeild where the beautiful bride was getting ready and the rest of the wedding would be held. When I arrived, Teigan and the girls were so calm and relaxed, with splashes of vibrant red everywhere, peaking out of the upstairs windows to watch the guests and the boys arrive all suited up.

When it came time for the ceremony, the decision was made to move the ceremony from the garden to the large verandah of the building as the drizzling rain was still hanging around.

After the ceremony we spent the afternoon using a number of locations around Newcastle for some unique portraits, including Newcastle train station, and my favourite, a dark, dingy, grafitti filled alleyway! Luckily the rain held off long enough for us to do the majority of the portraits without umbrellas.

The reception was held back at Bella Vista, with delicious food, plenty of dancing and a seriously cool custom cake topper! When it came time to leave, Teigan and Aaron made their grand exit out of the building under and archway created by all their family and friends.

Thank you both for having us there to share your day. We had so much fun with you both and you were just so easy to photograph.
