A weekend full of love and laughter

This past weekend was a busy one for Candice Campbell Photography! We had a double header weekend with a wedding in East Gresford on Friday and one in Pokolbin on Saturday. The weather all week had been very rainy, so of course the umbrellas were packed and ready for these two weddings. And I was stoked to find that both couples were more then happy to get out in the rain and create some magic rather then heading for shelter. I love it when my couples are so open for crazy ideas! As it turns out, the umbrellas were not needed as on both days we got no more than a tiny light sprikle of rain for no more than 5 minutes. But I must say, the moody clouds created a fabulous backdrop!

On friday I made my way up to Gresford to shoot the wedding of two very good freinds of mine, Lell and Guil. Lell and Guil are both very involved with the theatre, so it was indeed going to be a very quirky day (I even shot the wedding in one of my 50s skirts with a big petticoat). After a quick stop off at Gresfor cemetery to visit Lell's dad, we made our way to the church for a traditional ceremony complete with beautifully sung hymns. After the ceremony, Lell and Guil had organised for an afternoon tea for all of their guests at a local hall. At this afternoon tea, Lell and Guil had their first dance as a married couple and the dance bought a tear to everyones eye. Instead of music, Guil sung in his amazing opera voice to his new bride. It was the same song he sung when he proposed. It was just beautiful! After the cake had been eaten we made our way off to Crooks Park Homestead and Carriageway in Dungog for their location photos and their informal, small reception. It was a special day full of many crazy ideas and laughter and even a bull that appeared from behind a tree while we tried to shoot. Their special day was also shared with my second shooter Kylie and the vintage taxi driver, Ken who both were celebrating their wedding anniversaries that day!

One the Saturday, we had another beautiful day with extremely moody storm clouds looming in the background. Kristen and Rob's whole day was set at the beautiful Tuscany Estate in Pokolbin. Kristen and the girls had some very cute onsies on when I arrived at their room for the preparation photos. They were all very excited to get the photography session happening which is awesome! I love it when my couples are excited and really get into it! It makes me even more pumped throughout the day! Kristen's dress was amazing! It was a two in one dress... a beautiful flowing skirt for the ceremony and photos, and a slinky little mini dress underneath for dancing the night away at the reception. Both Kylie and I felt so welcomed at their wedding, and were even given celebratory champagne to have after the ceremony with the guests! After all the family photos, Kristen and Rob jumped in our car and we drove around to a few of my favourite locations around Pokolbin. We had a lot of fun climbing fences and trudging through long grass. Kylie even caught a butterfly which we then gave to Kristen to do a butterfly release! All with the backdrop of stormy clouds! Just magic! When we arrived back at the reception, we were treated likes guests and given a special seat at a guests table with delicious meals and red wine! I felt so welcomed by the couple and their whole family and it made me feel so lucky to have the beautiful couples that I have the honour of photographing.
