Sunshine, Rain and Lightning

Mother Nature had absolutely everything in store for Jess and Dave's beautiful Peppers Convent wedding! The morning started off sunny and very steamy as Merindah and I set off to photograph the couple getting ready at the Convent. As the boys waited at Robert's for the girls to arrive and the girls were climbing into the golf buggy to head to the ceremony, some rumbling started in the distance. By the time the buggy had arrived at Robert's a few occassional spots of rain had started to fall, but not enough to deter anyone.

As Jessica walked down the aisle towards her husband the rumbling continued to get louder. Not even 5 minutes into the ceremony and the rain started to fall, at first lightly, so the couple were passed and umbrella and the decision to continue the ceremony was made, but suddenly the skys opened up into a downpour and everyone made a mad dash for the verandahs of Robert's Restaurant. After 10 minutes or so of waiting, the rain stopped enough to let the ceremony be moved back to the garden. By the end of the ceremony, the sun was shining through the trees again.

After the ceremony we spent some time around the grounds of Robert's and the Convent doing portraits, before Jess and Dave jumped in the car with Merindah and I to get some last images on top of a hill. Once there, the wind had picked up to an almost cyclonic force, the storm clouds were growing darker in the background and the lightning had began to crack through the sky! What a spectacular backdrop it made!

Thank you both for such a fun filled day, one that will definatly never be forgotten!
