This past weekend I got the opportunity to work somewhere I have dreamed of shooting at for many years! Cockatoo Island in Sydney. For a very long time, my desire to shoot in this incredibly raw location has consumed me for some time. And I was finally given the opportunity to capture some truely spectacular images here for Adele and Leighton! The day started out quite warm and glary, all was going smoothly when all of a sudden the patter of tiny drops of rain started hitting the ground around me. Thankfully I had thought to bring an umbrella just incase because all of a sudden, the heavens opened up and we were all drenched!
Rather than running for cover and doing all our shots inside the huge warehouses, we decided to change the feel of the photos and shoot in the rain. I soon discovered how much I loved how Cockatoo Island looked in the rain. All the sensible people on the island ran for cover which left us free reign to shoot in the rain wherever we liked on the island. By the time we were all drenched all the way through, we moved into a warehouse to finish off and get ourselves semi dry. I would like to say an absolutely huge thankyou to Adele and Leighton for not being afraid to brave the elements and who made the day incredibly fun and exciting.
Over the past week I have been doing quite a number of family shoots. One of the most recent ones was Bec and Paul's family shoot out at Walka Water Works. We were presented with a very hot and humid afternoon, so hot that everyone else seemed to have evacuated from Walka, allowing us to have the whole area to ourselves. I had a great time working with their whole family and hope they had as much fun as I did.

Sun on The Rocks
On Saturday I was given the privelige of working with Ching and Sudip. And what a hot day it was! Almost all our shooting was done around The Rocks in Sydney and man was it sunny! It made me almost reget the black uniforms! We started off the day shooting in the lobby of the Westin Hotel in Sydney then made our way to Martin Place and then The Rocks. We tried to keep the majority of our locations out of the sun in some of the lovely shady locations around The Rocks. And there are plenty of them, which was very lucky for us. And thankfully, while we were in the these shady spots, we got a lovely breeze which helped to cool us as well as did magical things with Ching's veil. I was very pleased with the results of the day, and hope Ching and Sudip enjoy them as much as I do. Thanks for letting me work with you guys!

Happy New Year from Candice Campbell Photography
And what a big year it is set to be! We have now re-opened after our break off over Christmas and have been flat out ever since! Last week was jam packed with shoots, but more on that later.
Firstly, we would like to announce that we are now servicing the Mid North Coast Area and we will be now be using that as our second base. Secondly, in a few weeks time we will be releasing our new hard cover, leather bound wedding albums! Stay tuned for the release. We have a new advertisment coming out in edition 10 of Your Hunter Valley Wedding Planner shortly, and a few other ventures on the way as well!
So it is certainly set to be a very busy beginning of the year.

Just before Christmas, I did a small shoot of my parents as a Christmas gift for them. We spent a lovely morning at Closebourne house, wandering around and having a laugh. I kept the photos private until my parents received them at Christmas time. But now Christmas is over, I can give you a sneak peak of them.
Our first shoot of the new year was a Newborn shoot with the adorable little Ellie who was born on the 22nd December.
Last Friday I did a shoot with a difference, a high fashion swimwear shoot. Candice Campbell Photography collaborated with Eye Candy by Ali and Model Tori, to create something truely unique and spectacular. The aim was to create a look that was completely other-worldly, and i think we acheived that. Here are a few sneakies from that shoot... Enjoy...
Phew! What a post!

A Country Affair
This past weekend I had the great pleasure of doing a couples shoot with Kiera and Andy. I picked them up in the afternoon to take them to their surprise locations.
Our first stop was in East Maitland where we utilised the historic old train station, from there we headed out to one of my favourite places to shoot at Closebourne House at Morpeth. We had a lot of fun here. Andy was determined that he would be able to get through every door there, spider webs continuously getting in our face, hair, clothes and not to mention my lens, finding old rusted golf clubs and the search to find a golf ball so we could play. A lot of fun was had with this young couple. From here we headed to my secret location, and had fun in a hay field. We had some absolutely spectacular light by the time we arrived here. It inspired me so much and I couldve stayed shooting there all afternoon. When packing everything back in the car, we noticed a herd of cattle walking up to the fence near us, so they ended up posing for a few photos as well. After leaving my first secret location, we made our way to my second one. A very large hay shed. We had a lot of fun in here and all came out covered with hay! I'm still trying to get all of the peices of hay off my soft box!
The shoot was incredible and I think we really created some magic. This young couple was an absolute blast to work with! Get married already guys!!
Enjoy!

Christmas Chaos!
Wow, so this lead up to Christmas really is chaotic this year. Trying to cram in all the last of the shoots ready for the break. Last weekend I spent Saturday morning out at Closebourne House doing a photoshoot of my parents for their Christmas pressie. The rain finally stopped for us which was good. I can't imagine my parents wouldve been impressed if I told them I was going to continue shooting even if it was raining. I'll put a few sneakies up from that shoot after Christmas... Can't risk them seeing their Christmas Present early now can we! On Sunday after a lovely trip to Georges cameras in Sydney to buy myself a new camera strap to reduce my neck strain we were scheduled to have a very cool shoot at The Rocks in Sydney. Unfortunately that crazy storm that was all over the news hit and we had to postpone it. There was no way we wouldv'e even been able to get the lights out of the car, so that was a bit disappointing.
This week has been a huuuuuuuuge one for post processing! I have got so much done its unbeleivable! But still plenty more to keep m busy.
This afternoon I am off to a number of very cool locations to do a couples shoot of Kiera and Andy. I hope these clouds that are slowly rolling in keep away as i'm feeling inspired by the harsher light at the moment. So let see how it pans out. Tommorrow morning I will be off to Walka Water Works to shoot a family portrait session. Looking forward to that as well. Will be sure to get some sneak peaks for both of those shoots up before Christmas.
And as promised last blog post, here are some sneak peaks from Baby Gracie's first photoshoot!
Enjoy!!
